Retreating in Shipshewana

I’m at a quilt retreat this week in Shipshewana, Indiana. It’s in the heart of Amish country. The sights, sounds and food can’t be beat. We’re staying at the Farmstead Inn and Conference Center right on St. Rt. 5. There’s access to the sewing room 24 hours a day.

The entire town is decked out for the holidays and in the evening the lights are truly a sight to see.

One of my favorite places to shop is Lolly’s Fabrics in the Davis Mercantile. It’s a close to quilters heaven on earth as you can get. I bought my first pair of Crocs shoes at a store in the lower level of the Mercantile.

When it comes time for meals, it’s the Blue Gate for me. Home cooked Amish food at it’s best!

I’d love to talk all evening but there’s a million stitches to be sewn and hundreds of shops to visit before I leave on Sunday.

Howdy Gail! Theresa sent me your photos. Fun!
I like your journal/newsletter. Great photos.
You are just like Paris Hilton with your little dog!
But, I know unlike Paris, you are more creative, fun and staying out of prison!

Hope your summer goes VERRRRRRRRRy well.
    Love, Rebecca
