Hi Gayle,
I think this is one of those times when a little "poetic licence" is in order? I thought I would put a green "nub" on the empty stem and embroder a few yellow hairs like what is inside a flower[I am sure there is a name for them] and a few "fallen" petals at the bottom? What do you think?
It's nice to hear that Clutch is feeling better after his mishap in the snow and back on duty guarding the fish[apparently he should be on the sheriff's pay roll!!With a sherriff's badge on a little harness, now that would be cute!!]we have a friend with a spaniel that wears a life jacket, hat and sunglasses when she is in the boat [Dixie is the first "material girl" canine style dog that I know but a "working" little man would sure be cute]lol

Hi There Gayle, Guess Clutch can make a lot of noise and scare away the fishermen. I remember my first fish, my brother scaled it adn stuck a stick thru it and roasted it over an open fire, right out there and then. It was bliss. Your place sounds like heaven. Where exactly are you so we can look it up on google map.

I think the empty stem might be an older flower that has lost all its petals. As there are flowers in different stages in the block, that might just be the case. Well thats it for me.

Once again thank you.

I am so very much enjoying my visits to your website each day and reading your thoughts on the Sally Post quilt! I've been able to save all 20 patterns and pictures and I look forward to the days I will sew Sally's quilt. This is a GREAT opportunity you are sharing with the quilting community Gayle! Thank you so much!
