Red and White Quilts – Wish I Was There

Advertisements:

I have always had a thing for red and white quilts. It doesn't matter if they're pieced, appliqued or embroidered........ there's a special magic in the combination of those two colors.
A fantastic exhibition of red and quilt quilts is opening today in New York at the Park Avenue Armory. It's the American Folk Art Museum's Infinite Variety:Three Centuries of Red and White Quilts.

I'm hoping to find some great photos online as the exhibit gets underway and my first discovery is from the museum itself.

This picture is from the Flickr group for the American Folk Art Museum. There are some wonderful pictures of the exhibit as it was being set up. Some of the photos give you a feeling of being inside a red and white tornado of quilts. Great photography!

I have an entire bolt of this stunning red fabric. I have a feeling it won't be long before I'm inspired to put it in a quilt. No ideas on a design yet but the dreaming has just begun.

I hope some of you have the opportunity to see the exhibit.

If not, you might want to order this great set of red and white magnets from the museum gift shop. I'll let you know when I find more pictures.

Is there a red and white quilt in your future?
