December is flying by at a feverish pace. There is less than three weeks until Christmas Day. I used to laugh at my parents when they told me “the older you get the faster time goes by.” Needless to say, I get it! I can’t say I like it any better than they did.
If you’re on the Sentimental Stitches mailing list you’ve been receiving “The Twelve Days of Christmas” emails with a different special each day. I had so much fun working on today’s special that I just had to share it with you here.
Most of you know how much I adore our little cottage in the woods of Traverse City. Using Midget Block #16 was perfect not only because it’s called Christmas Tree but because it will remind me all winter long of my Traverse City trees!
This particular Midget Block is foundation paper pieced so the little points on the tree will be as perfect as they can be. I added some easy piecing from a variety of forest green prints and a little border. The quilting is simple straight lines and I used the serpentine stitch on my machine for some soft waves. Add the binding and believe it or not you can finish this in an afternoon.
Now for the best part……… today’s Fourth Day of Christmas Special is a kit to make your very own Midget Block Mug Rug. It comes with everything you need right down to the cotton batting and a peppermint candy cane. It’s all packaged in a holiday mug for you to use with your new Midget Block Mug Rug. All the information is on the Mug Rug Kit page in the online store.
Until midnight tonight you can order as many of the kits as you’d like for $12.50 using the FOURTHDAY coupon code during checkout. These make great “Secret Pal” gifts and we’d be happy to send one directly to your pal for you but the Twelve Days of Christmas Specials are really meant to be my treats for you.
If you’re not on the mailing list be sure to sign up in the right sidebar. You’ll receive an email each morning (except Sundays) letting you know what the special is for that day. There are eight days of specials left and you never know what Clutch and I will come up with. He’s taken up residence as my “desk dog” this week while I work.
