THIS IS A SECRET PROJECT
Please be extra careful and try not to discuss this on public forums and lists!
Brenda's husband Pete passed away on May 23, 2013. Sadly, there is little we can do to ease the pain of losing a loved one but it's my hope that we can show Brenda how much we care by wrapping her in a quilt made from our "blocks of love". We all know there will be many lonely days ahead as she adjust to life without her knight in shining armor and being surrounded by family and friends is what gets us through. Please join us by making a "block of love" to be included in the quilt. Pete was an accomplished artist so the block we'll be making is the Dear Jane block - Pete's Paintbox.
NEED TO KNOW INFORMATION
Fabrics: Main color - Kaffe Fassett (or like kind) print of your choice. Brenda loves Kaffe fabrics! Background - white on white print (not cream or off white but bright white). Please use 100% cotton fabric.
If you're not sure what Kaffe Fassett fabrics look like see the pictures below. If you don't have any Kaffe prints in your stash perhaps you have something that is "Kaffe like" that would work.
Construction: Block can be hand or machine pieced. The pattern pages have templates for hand piecing, foundation paper piecing and rotary cutting in case you want to combine techniques.
Signature: You can sign your block if you'd like to. I think I'll add mine to the center square. Please use a permanent pigma marking pen to sign your name.
Quilting: if you can include a few $$ to help cover the cost of quilting when you mail your block it would be greatly appreciated. Any extra money will be donated to the memorial designated for Pete (St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church). You can also use the donation button below instead of mailing it with your block.
Mailing: Please mail your block to arrive by July 1, 2013.

I'm almost sure I've forgotten something so if you have any questions please email me at: email@example.com and I'll do my best to help. My heartfelt thanks for joining in this project. I know together we can create something to delight the eyes and warm the heart. We'll be working as quickly as possible after the blocks are received to finish the quilt and present it to Brenda. I'll be sure to take plenty of pictures to share the final construction with you.
