Scrappy Sherbet Quilt
August 26th, 2006 by Gayle
- A fast and easy scrap quilt that is strip pieced from your choice of two colors. I used the yummy sherbet ice cream colors of orange and lime. Beautiful in 1930s prints, Civil War reproductions and Batiks too! Finished size 60″ x 72″.
Here’s a peek at the palatte I used.

I have made two schlepp bags and I am very pleased with how they turned. Thankyou for sharing.
Love the colors you used. It looks so bright and warm.
was wondering if you sew an extra backing on each of your squares?
I made three scrape quilts for each of my daughters for christmas this year and all were different patterns ,. and i sew an extra peice of material on each one that i did, did i need to do this?
HAPPY NEW YEAR ALSO FROM OUR HOME TO YOURS
I love this quilt and since I have a LOT of greens this is a great quilt to make with all these. Of course I have a lot of other colors but my greens are EXTRA large. I love these bright colors more and more each year.
Is something wrong with block 22. I am not able to piece 6-7-8-9. I tried every way I could.
I’m interested in using this pattern, but can’t quite figure out the yardage needed for each of the fabrics. If you could let me know approximately what you used that would be phenomenal. Thank you very much.
Hey,
I’m a beginner and was wondering if you all could give me some pointers. I’m currently working on my first quilt. Its for my first niece! Cross your fingers its a success!

Hi I sure do appreciate your help. I love
Abraham Lincoln and am interested in finding a quilt pattern to honor him. I heard about it recently so hope its out there. It is made of homespun fabrics and is pieced. That is all I remember. Thank you, Clara
Just to say that I was delighted with the pattern for the schlep bag – the instructions were so easy to follow & my first attempt looks just like one of the three pictured bags in your pattern! I’m making a bunch of these bags with the intention of giving them as Christmas gifts this year. And — the best part is — they cost nothing to make!!! How awesome is that!!!
