I'm leaving on Tuesday morning to attend a Dear Jane quilting retreat in Shipshewana, IN. I'll be there until Sunday so there's lots of time for sewing, shopping and eating pie. We're staying at the Farmstead Inn.
We do our sewing in a huge room inside the red barn conference center.
I love, love, love to shop the stores in Shipshewana. One of my favorites that is a daily stop is Lolly's Fabrics. The selection of fabric is second to none and they have a wonderful row boat filled with fat quarters. Lucky for us they also have little stools to sit on and wicker baskets to fill with our fabric fish.
It's hard to resist the huge selection of quilts in Lolly's Home store. They have something for everyone. Table toppers to king size quilts and all beautifully hand quilted.
I do take time to eat at least one good meal a day and my favorite place is the Blue Gate Restaurant. It's the only place in the world where I eat liver & onions. Their Old Fashioned Cream pie is a little slice of heaven.
I've got my camera packed so you can go to the retreat too. Each night I'll post pictures of the activities of the day along with some of the wonderful sights in the heart of Amish county.
Be sure to stop by Wednesday morning for my first report.
