Boy, oh boy, it's hot in northern Michigan this week. Spending most of my time inside in the air conditioning catching up on a little sewing. I've also been testing out a new iron. So far, I'm liking it and will share my findings with you later this week. If you're a quilter, I think buying an iron can be just as challenging as buying a bra or bathing suit! I'll take all the help and recommendations I can get.

I started these blocks at the Dear Jane Retreat in April and hadn't gotten back to them. I'm trying to decide on the border now. When I showed Brenda a picture she like the way the purple framed the blocks. I like the way the pink plays with the orange but I'd have to change a couple of outer colors on some blocks so the two pinks didn't fade into each other. Brenda suggested putting the orange first and then the pink and blue. I'm going to try that and take another picture later. I'll let you know what I decide.

Today is a Just Takes 2 day! I'm thrilled to tell you Brenda is with us this month and she has a darling block for you over at Dear Jane. She's been busy sewing the block with some great Kaffe Fassett fabrics. It makes me want to start this quilt all over again!

Block 12

The block is called Fox and Geese. I've seen lots of those around here this summer. Actually more geese than fox. The fox are pretty careful but once in a while we catch a glimpse of them. With two little doggies running around here I'm always keeping my eyes open. Last night the neighborhood skunk showed up and both dogs bolted up from a sound sleep barking like crazy. I'm not sure where the skunk was but his perfume was flowing into the house even with all the windows closed. And no.........I did not let them go out to look for him!
