Easter 2013

I know I'm more than a little late with this post and hope you'll understand - family comes first. Things have been a bit hectic around our house. Rob's Mom fell just after my last post and suffered a compression fracture in her back, but unbeknownst to us was also suffering from a kidney infection. She passed away unexpectedly and it's been a whirlwind of travel, family, funeral, sorting, cleaning and all the emotions that go along with losing someone special.

Polly was a very special lady. Her life wasn't always easy but she handled everything with grace and class. At 93 she was still living in her own apartment and enjoying life with her friends and family. On Easter Sunday she asked us to take the family picture at the beginning of this post and I'm so glad we did. Her funeral was on what would have been my Mom's 89th birthday so the day was really bittersweet for me.
I'm back at the cottage and trying to refocus my brain to some of the new projects I had planned but first I need to include Block 16 in the Just Takes 2 Schoolhouse Quilt
