I have nearly all my blocks finished but have decided not to put it together until I get “home” for the winter, where I will have much more room.

Feathered Star

My feathered star was paperpieced using EQ7. I had put in a request for a pp pattern and someone sent me a file. However, before I received it, I found one in EQ7 and I had started it. This one has one more sent of “feathers” in each star point. I got it all together and couldn’t figure out how to get the center applied, so I appliqued it on! Not sure now I’m going to embroider on all the white spaces. I may just wait and see how much embroidery is on this quilt before...

Directions Featheredf Star

I have started my feathered star, following very carefully the directions. The third bullet down says to sew the half square triangles together in pairs, which I did. Then I sewed on the triangle pieces as directed. But when I went to sew the strips onto the white corner squares, half the triangle pieces are facing the wrong direction. So, only 8 of the triangles get sewed in one direction, and the other 8 get sewed in the other direction. There is no illustration to show this, only the photo...

New blocks

For whatever reason, I cannot download the new blocks. This is so frustrating – seems like an awful lot of hoops to jump through to get to the download buttonm and then it doesn’t work!

I have finished the last five blocks. I put them away and forgot to take photos, but will get them out in the next day or two and post. Believe it or not, the most difficult one for me was the last one!! I just struggle with those little pedals – ole arthur in my right hand doesn’t help!!!
