January 1 blocks completed

January 1 blocks completed. I made the first two with the black print that I had chosen for the background, which turned out to be not a good choice. There was very little contrast and the colours all swam together. So, I started again with a plain wine colour for the background. I am happy with this choice as the various lime green prints show up really well against it. I enjoyed the mix of machine and hand sewing on these blocks. I don’t think I’ll be doing any embroidery though; it would get lost in all the prints.
