BROKEN HEARTED

Laurel beat me to it, but I had planned to make this change from the beginning! I had to finish this block in February. It has been 4 weeks today since I buried my husband, and I it has definitely been a broken hearted month for me.

  1. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I lost my husband and the love of my life 4 years ago and it has been very difficult.

Your block is gorgeous. Keep busy.

  5. I am so sorry for your loss. Time will soften the blow of losing your husband. The block looks lovely and you will look at it with sadness but also joy. I lost my 26 yr old son in Nov and my sewing is getting me back into feeling a little more like myself

  6. I, too, lift you up in my prayers. But, oh, what a Saint you are to put yourself right into a rewarding activity! I agree your block is beautiful and oh the love and memories it will hold in the future!

  7. Hi Margo……I love your block in Green……My dearest soulmate died in July 2006….I am still so very very sad and when I saw the title “Broken Heart” it spoke to me and I immediately saw that those hearts needed the points…..Done this way the white crosses look like the arrows that have pierced the hearts…..
I can sympathize in your loss and understand what you are feeling in these “early” days…..for me, it has never gotten “better” but I have somewhat adjusted to what is the new “normal” of living in a world without him in it….I sincerely wish the same for you…..
If you love sewing as I do it does help….I still have his shirts to make a quilt of them but haven’t been able to cut into them yet…..someday I will…..

  8. I too am sorry for your loss. I lost a 5 year old handicapped daughter many years ago and am reminded ever alomost every day when I see the clock say 11:22, the time she was born. May God comfort you at this time.
    Hugs. . . Chris

  9. I commend you for your efforts on this quilt in the midst of such grief and sorrow. Your broken heart is lovely. I hope that this quilt will be a very special one for you. My prayers are with you. God bless you.
