Feathered Star
My feathered star was paperpieced using EQ7. I had put in a request for a pp pattern and someone sent me a file. However, before I received it, I found one in EQ7 and I had started it. This one has one more sent of “feathers” in each star point. I got it all together and couldn’t figure out how to get the center applied, so I appliqued it on! Not sure now I’m going to embroider on all the white spaces. I may just wait and see how much embroidery is on this quilt before I do the entire block. I may just do the center square, but will wait until the end of this BOM. My first star was a total disaster and I know some will cringe, but I did throw it away!
Well, this star is no disaster!! It is beautiful!

Your star is lovely. Mine is 2/3 finished – I’m paper piecing it also – found the pattern on my BLOCK BASE program. It wasn’t on my EQ5. Isn’t it interesting that some of thought we preferred standard piecing rather than paper piecing but we’ve sought out p.piecing patterns for this pattern? I think we’re not only challenged with this quilt but we’ve learning and becoming better quilters along the way.
I did the first feathered star in EQ7, if I had looked a little further, I would have found the actual one that Gay put on the site; but, I’m very happy with the way this one turned out.
