I did spend my day off this week working on tote bag and purse patterns along with some time on the phone researching a few things. It inspired me to revamp the Schlep Bag instructions and do something of my own. That was last Wednesday. It's now Friday the 7th and I'm actually getting back to all this.
Have you ever sewn with paper? I don't usually do that but tried to work on this during a break at the shop. I figured paper and tape would be a lot faster than needle and thread at this point. Now the question of the day! Should I place the focus fabric, charm square or Midget Block in Section A or Section B? I want your suggestions! Everyone who emails me with their choice will be entered in a drawing for a copy of the Week by Week Sampler pattern in the original 4" size. I need to hear from you by September 30th. I'll be testing positions, hopefully with fabric, during that time and will post pictures for you to see.
I'm certainly not lacking for fabric choices.
I bought the coolest purse / tote from Pam's Boutique Bag Originals. I love it! Even Clutch can't take his eyes off it.
Yes, I could have made it myself but Pam's prices are so reasonable, she does beautiful work and even let me choose my own colors.
What more could you want? If you'd like to ask about ordering one of these for yourself you can reach Pam at geegnc@cs.com. No affiliation, but a satisfied buyer who would order again. Oh yeah, her eBay name is: stella1403.
Since I started this post last week I've added paper handles to the bag. I've got two options for lining it. One will give you a reversible bag and the other will have inside pockets to keep you organized. If I get finished with the Block of the Month patterns that need to be posted and two of the Midget Block patterns too, I'll take a couple more pictures for you to see. This will be much more than just a purse size bag. You'll be able to make it tote size, almost like a Schlep Bag but with more options.
It's a crappy weather day here. The wind is blowing wildly and it's raining from time to time. We need the rain so I won't complain but wind in woods can be dangerous. As soon as Clutch recovers from eating too much ice cream yesterday we'll take a walk up the driveway to check on all our trees. We still have some big limbs hanging precariously from last years terrible storms.
Okay, off to work on the patterns and see if I can find the missing Just For Baby block drawings I know are here somewhere!
