Shipshewana Dear Jane Retreat – Day 1

Advertisements:

Arrived here about 9:21 pm last night. It took me nearly 4 hours to get here from Chicago - could have driven back to Grand Rapids and then here in that amount of time. I was mighty tired and hungry but there was East of Chicago waiting for me with the "Open" sign shining brightly. A yummy flash pizza was to be my dinner. I'd survive.

I wish it hadn't been so dark - parked right behind me when I came out was a pick-up truck filled with old fashioned white wringer washers. Only a sight you'd see in Shipshe and the kind of thing we treasure. If I see the truck again today I'll take a picture.

Here's a few pictures from Fabricganza at Troy. Aisles and aisles of fabric bolts.

This beautiful quilt was made by Margo Krager. It's hand pieced and hand quilted. Little 3" star blocks in double pinks and indigo.

These beautiful 1930s are from Blue Hill Fabrics. I'll tell you in the next post how you can win some of this fabric. I'll be giving it all away - how fun is that?

Off to get a pretzel for brunch at JoJo's!

Shipshewana By Way Of Fabriganza In Chicago

Advertisements:

Okay, first day on the road and I survived my share of challenges. It seemed like I was paying a toll or fighting traffic every mile of the way from Grand Rapids to Chicago. The roads were lousy in spite of all that toll money and in parts of Chicago between the construction and traffic I considered becoming a little frazzled.

Decided I was quite grateful for the Google Maps GPS on my phone. Not one wrong turn!

The first day of Fabriganza at Troy Distributors went quite smoothly and there was quite a line of shop owners buying fabric before they closed for the day.

I'm the first speaker in the morning sharing the news about my Petticoats and Polka Dots collection with Blue Hill Fabrics.

I should be on my way to Shipshewana for the Dear Jane Retreat by early afternoon and will tweet along the way. For now I'll say "good night" and crawl under the covers. It's going to be an early morning.

New Potted Blooms Pattern & Easter Sale

Advertisements:

I just added a wonderful new pattern to the

Online Store.

It's called Potted Blooms. You're going to love it!
It's from the same time period as the Beyond The Cherry Trees block of the month we're doing so naturally it's part of the Polka Dot Garden series.

The pattern has full size drawings of the blocks and border along with color photos of each one. It's a great set of designs to add to your collection of applique patterns.

From now until Monday night I've put everything in the store on sale! Yes, even the new pattern!
All you need to do is enter the word EASTER as your coupon code and it'll take 20% off your entire order.
(if you have any problems, let me know)

Now's a great time to get those past block of the month patterns you might have missed. The next Beyond The Cherry Trees block will be available tonight.
