These are kit quilts manufactured by the F.A. Wurzburg Company, aka. Donald B. Wurzburg Company, Wurzburg Needlecraft Novelties, Fabric Specialties and Needleart Guild from the late 1800s to 1940s. Because the Wurzburg Company was the largest manufacturer of kit quilts and art needlework supplies they manufactured and labeled kits for other companies such as Herrschner’s, Lee Wards, Lockport Cotton, Robert Frank and others. If a kit was sometimes labeled for another company for direct sale to the consumer it will be listed on the quilt’s identification page along with cross reference stock numbers. The Wurzburg Company did not sell directly to consumers.

Kits are identified by number. The lower the number, the earlier the quilt was manufactured.
